WEATHER WATCH

E-mail Print PDF

                                                       WEATHER WATCH
As we all know, we are unable to predict, control, or change the weather.  But we can be ready, by getting our families prepared for all weather, as well as, other disasters.  With the winter weather approching, we mush get ready, in deed.  Three simple rules for being prepared is " BE INFORMED, MAKE A PLAN, GET SUPPLIES!"

BEING PREPARED:
Texas is proned for many disaster, natural or man-made.   Terrorism is a threat as well.  Learn the dangers in your community and state.  When weather is a threat, tune in to your local TV or radio station for important information.
MAKE A PLAN:  No family is alike, so make a plan that fits your family and its needs. All family members need to know and understand the plan and their roles.  Everyone need to know the escape routes,  utilities cut off, vital records, and family contacts.
GET SUPPLIES: Prepare a supply list and supples for all members in the family.  Make sure it is enought  for all in the family ( including the pets). The basic needs would be as followed:
Water   (1 gal per day each person)      First- Aid Kit
Food     (non persible)                           Emergency items ( matches, flashlight, radio, etc)
Clothing                                                Special Need Items  ( pet food, medication, baby essentials)

Not being prepared is another way of being unprepared!!

Thank you!
